So after a long day Lane Alden Gallistel arrived at 9:44 pm on Saturday August 19th. He was 7 lbs, 6 ozs and 20-something inches long (in the confusion I missed the exact number).

I had my doctor’s appointment this morning at 11am. There has been no progress: I’m still only dilated ~1cm and ~50% effaced. They did do an ultrasound and the baby has grown! No longer is he “average,” he now appears to be on the big side – the ultrasound technician estimated him [...]
Ok, I’ve had a lot of questions about my due date, since the original due date was Aug. 18 (tomorrow), so by that measure the baby is not late. Here’s the deal.

Not much new to report. When I’m up and about the contractions seem more frequent, but still not that frequent and not at all intense. Walking does seem to bring them on more, but it’s also tiring. We’ll continue to alternate walking and resting today.

I promised to post something every day, so folks would know whether or not I’d go into labor, and I forgot yesterday. Still not in labor! Which means I’m still bugging my co-workers … I’m sure they are looking forward to me staying out of things!
Any minute now! Mom is here – junior was given instructions not to make his appearance until after Mom arrived, so any time now would be fine (although his due date remains the 11th). My last day at work was the 4th, so now I am officially on maternity leave.
